High Definition is suppose to be state of art, well it looks like JVC has raised the bar with the release of the GY-HMQ10 4k camcorder. It has 4 times the resolution of high definition. Of course one will need a 4k monitor or projector to see this resolution.
I have seen some 4k video and it is just amazing compared to current high definition. Imagine looking at a quad split display and each quadrant is a full 1920 x 1080 resolution. Its actually 3840 x 2140 resolution. Now there is a somewhat affordable camera at 5495.00 msrp and should be able to find it online under 5000.00.
