Sony’s new crystal 55 inch Led display has true self emitting leds with approximately 6 million leds (2million of each-RGB). USB 3.0 solid state flash drive
Iomega’s solid state flash drive with USB 3.0 is 10x faster than USB 2.0. As a flash drive there is also no moving parts and makes for a very reliable storage device as well. The prices have come way down from unaffordable to yes its more than a disk drive but reasonable considering the benefits of speed and reliablity, power consumption, size and weight as well.
I spotted an Iomega 128gb solid state drive at B&H at 256.48.

YouTube’s New Remote
If you want an app to control YouTube from any browser and on your phone check out Clik by Clik Interactive Inc.
It allows multiple people with iphones to control videos over same pc and browser no software or hardware needs to be installed. Simply go to clickthis.com and connect to the browser you want to control by scanning the QR code on the website.
I could see this being a great collaborative tool using iPhones or smart phones on websites and people in the audience could engage in or participate interactively beyond YouTube videos.
The Lytro Camera, captures life in living pictures
Tired of the out of focus picture or wish you had focused on something differently after you have downloaded your photos, well now its possible to focus after the fact. The Lytro is the only camera capable of doing this by capturing the entire light field in every direction and every point in space. So when you press the point you actually capture “everything” not just what you focused on, its like really freezing the scene in time, and having infinite possibilities from one frame.
Collecting Gumballs
Very interesting article I ran across from discovery resources.org on “Collecting Gumballs” by Tom Mighell while researching gumball problems in my yard.
Hedy Llamarr inventor of wifi
Interesting article on Hedy Llamarr from CBS about her patent on frequency shifting technology for torpedos that is actually very similar to how wifi and cell phones work today.
AccuFuel app
The AccuFuel app can help you track your vehicles fuel efficiency and how your driving habits affect your fuel mileage. Also can have a complete history of fuel usage for your vehicle. Trying different routes to work and how traffic will affect your fuel mileage and useage would be interesting as well.
Using smart phone to save fuel costs
With the price of gas nearing 4.00 and already at 5.00 in some parts of the country it might be worth looking into the iGasup app for 99 cents. It might pay for itself the first time you fill up and not worry that a few blocks away gas was
cheaper somewhere else, if you save 5 cents a gallon thats a dollar saved on 20 gallons.
